download and install the RSC, see the post update for detail. The ALOM password should be able to erase by this command. Hv tested even on old machine like Netra V210 with Solaris 8.

I would appriciate it if you could explain the steps that you took for resolving this. After installing the Virtual Machine, how do you then add the OS? Also I am so confused with regards to the IP addresses that we should use, ie the default gateway is which of the adapters, the windows host adapter ip address or the vmware adapter?

After writing netservices limited connection to server was closed and now I cannot use SSH or telnet,,, How I can connet to server again?

hai frnd i want to configure my desktop with sun solaris 10, but only 1 interface showing , so i want to configure 2 nic cards in my pc, so pls help me to download a nic card driver for configuration

actually, all step above must be run from serial console. command “netservice limited” wil stop all network services including ssh and telnet. you hv to go to serial and type “netservice open”.

Solaris 9/10 shipped with almost all NIC card drivers, you just need to ‘plumb’ your 2nd NIC card port and configure the ip address. If let say you have 1 NIC card with 4 ports and your first nic card detected as “e1000g0″, then your 2nd port driver would be “e1000g1″. type “ifconfig e1000g1 plumb” and configure the ip address.

Suggest me about few questions

1. Should we use mpxio for any San boot or can we live without using mpxio

2. in case we have SAS or FC disk locally attached with Sun server, should we use mpxio on boot disk in that case or can we live without enabling mpxio on boot disk in that case. I think, locally attached disks are per controller but still if we enable mpxio it will put disk mpxio control, please correct me if i am wrong
